Wow. It has been two weeks since I started looking at office space. And now? I have a contract on an office, have been packing the supplies and files at my aunt’s house, started changing our address with all of the operators, and scheduled a mover to help get everything from my aunt’s to the office in one week. It’s happening so fast! It’s exciting and scary at the same time.

With all of my focus on getting things set up for this move, I haven’t worked on any of my writing. Every chance I could have had I spent working on changing the address and making plans. The rest has fallen by the wayside.

I start my Book in 90 course in September, with a Meet and Greet on Monday. The first live session will be on September 5. That means I’ll have a week to get the office settled in some sort of order and get my head back on track to work on my book. I’ll need to be sure to schedule when I will do the work I’m paid for too.

When I have my office I won’t have to worry about finding a place with WiFi and an easily accessible power outlet. I won’t have to worry about paying for a drink just so I feel justified in taking up space. I will be able to bring my own food and drinks with me and not worry about spending money or eating fast food. I will have access to coffee and water and a refrigerator. I will feel like a part of a community (I hope), but also able to close my door if I need quiet.

At the moment I’m at a coffee shop and keep getting distracted by conversations going on around me. I miss the days of sitting in the library with others working quietly around me. I don’t want to be alone, but I also can’t seem to stay focused with all the activity. I am praying the office will be the cure!
