This morning I got onto WordPress to type up a blog post. I didn’t have a specific topic in mind, just wanted to update the blogosphere about where I am in the book publishing process. Unfortunately, there was a little notification number next to a menu item on the dashboard and I made the mistake of clicking on it. My ADHD hyperfocus went down a rabbit hole and wound up in ShopperLand.

WooCommerce was luring me into setting up a shopping page for my site. Which I have been thinking about doing but really don’t need to get distracted by that at this stage. However, the hole sucked me in. I thought I was just playing around. I didn’t realize that I was changing the entire look of my site.

Not only that, but the template I was using to set up an online store took it upon itself to post products to both Instagram and Facebook. None of these items are real. And I have no idea what I clicked to make this happen.

Thank goodness Sage saw the strange posts and sent me a voice note letting me know that something weird was happening. I immediately got on Instagram and deleted the unwanted posts, then did the same for Facebook. But there was at least an hour or more where people might have seen these odd posts and wondered what was up. I’m extremely grateful that Sage let me know or I probably wouldn’t have even noticed. At least, not today.

That is also when I realized that I was not editing a shop page, I was editing the home page. Which means that I changed the entire look of my site. Oops. That was not at all intentional. But I don’t know how to get the old look back.

Hopefully the change is pleasing. I kind of like it, though I probably need to tweak a few things. What are your thoughts on the new look?
