I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read so far. I received an ARC in exchange for a review, but it only contained half of the book and left off on a cliff hanger!
Devin, a slacker of a guy, has just been dumped by his girlfriend because he’s terminally lazy. While working a temp job through Chore Weasels for a defunct gaming company, he sneaks a peek at the one game the company had developed. Only to be sucked into the game…literally!
Now he’s busy completing quests with an NPC that is all too real and has no idea how to get back home. Meanwhile, the game’s developer, who is aware of the glitch, trying to track down other missing players and cover up that anyone is missing at all.
I have no idea if anyone is successful because the ARC ended just as the world and characters had been fully established. Now I’m invested and want to know how it all turns out! I guess this is fair punishment for being several weeks late with this review. Hopefully I’ll have the opportunity to read the rest of the book and can update my review.
