Before & After

Yesterday I got completely fed up with my hair and had my husband drop me off at the hair salon to chop off my hair so I don’t have to do anything to it and it’s still off my neck. The other advantage was getting it properly washed. It’s really difficult to wash your hair one handed. I got fairly good at it 3 years ago somehow, but I’m out of practice.

I’ve been doing my best to avoid strong pain meds so I can drive. This morning I drove the 2 minutes to church. I spent more time up and in my sling than I have the whole week and it wore me out. I came home and took a nap. When I woke up, I was hurting. I guess the extra strength Tylenol I’d taken wore off. I tried taking more, but after an hour I was still hurting pretty badly, so I took a ketorolac (anti-inflammatory).

Why is it that my fingers and elbow are still numb from the shot they gave me, but my hand and wrist feel pain? That’s just unfair. I hate the numb feeling in my fingers. It’s like that tingly feeling when your arm falls asleep, but it doesn’t go away. It’s painful in its own way.

I know I’m complaining a lot. I’m actually doing pretty well, considering. Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment and I’m going to try to drive myself. I’m just stubborn and hate being limited. I’m sure the 2 people that read my blog on a regular basis are done with the complaining. So tomorrow I promise to write about something positive.

  1. It must feel so much nicer to have your hair short now.

    1. I’m still not completely sure I like it, but at least it’s off my neck!

      1. I think it looks good! 🙂

      2. Thanks. That’s what everyone at church said. I think it just takes getting used to.
