Whew! What a week! Friday both of my children stayed home from school thanks to a virus. They missed their very first homecoming game. They made it to the dance on Saturday, but probably shouldn’t have. My son stayed home again on Monday.

I worried I wouldn’t get all of my writing done, but thanks to scheduling writing time with other people, I have already surpassed my goal for this week! And I still have the official B90 writing block today and I created a time for us to motivate each other tomorrow as well.

This week Sage had us use our Cosmic Smash Books to explore how we felt about structure. I have to admit that I love me some structure! However, I’m also prone to the perfectionist mindset that says there is a right and wrong way to structure a story (or a life). Through the CSB exercise I homed in on the fact that I can have fun with structure and don’t have to fit into someone else’s mold. By creating my own structure, I have a roadmap for where I’m going, but I can also choose to detour when needed. This has helped me to let go of feeling like I’m doing things incorrectly when it comes to how I write.

I was also able to meet up with Sage and another group she runs to explore transitions. Not just in stories, but in life. I got a lot out of that session and took off with it. I’m loving the concept of Cosmic Smash Booking to explore intuitively and spark creativity.

I was telling a friend this morning that I’m so glad I signed up for Book in 90. I feel like it’s really helping to focus my energy and creativity, while also letting it grow. I had hesitated to sign up because I never feel worthy of spending money on myself. But I truly feel this is money well spent and will be looking for more opportunities once this is over.

Time to join my fellow B90 gals! Until next week!
